Dr. Sair graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, before earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Medicine. He continued his medical education in Philadelphia, where he completed a transitional internship at Jefferson Frankford Hospital - Aria Health and a residency in anesthesiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He returned to Durham to finish his medical training with a fellowship in pain medicine at the Duke University Medical Center.

Dr. Sair has over 17 years of experience in working with patients to reduce their pain. During that time, he’s honed an incredibly attentive bedside manner and developed a vast working knowledge of the field. He is fluent in English, Japanese, and Urdu, and is currently board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in anesthesiology and pain medicine.
